IFGW 8-Year Strategic Program

2025–2032
Strength in Heritage. Unity in Tradition

 Our Mission

To preserve, promote, and globalize Chidaoba – Georgian wrestling – as both a traditional sport and an internationally recognized cultural treasure, with the long-term goal of Olympic inclusion.

 

Year 1 (2025) – Foundation & Structuring

  • Finalize and register international branches and national partners in key countries (France, USA, Japan, Italy, Greece)

  • Launch official IFGW website and digital archive with historical materials, photos, and UNESCO documentation

  • Publish foundational documents in multiple languages (constitution, bylaws, development plan)

  • Host international press conference in Tbilisi

  • Begin Olympic recognition feasibility study with legal and sports governance advisors

Year 2 (2026) – Education & Training

  • Develop and publish international training curriculum for Chidaoba (youth, amateur, professional levels)

  • Certify first cohort of international Chidaoba coaches and referees

  • Launch online training platform with multilingual video content

  • Begin educational partnerships with universities and sports academies

  • Organize first international Chidaoba seminar week in Georgia

Year 3 (2027) – Cultural Diplomacy & Expansion

  • Host "Chidaoba World Cultural Festival" in Tbilisi with participation from UNESCO, embassies, and partner nations

  • Establish official Chidaoba Academies in 5 countries under IFGW standards

  • Begin diplomatic outreach for inclusion in international cultural & sports calendars

  • Open first permanent IFGW cultural and training center in Shilda (Kakheti region)

Year 4 (2028) – Institutional Consolidation & Global Tournaments

  • Launch the "IFGW World Tour": Chidaoba exhibitions in 10 major cities (New York, Paris, Tokyo, etc.)

  • Submit official pre-application for inclusion in Olympic recognition process (via GAISF/IOC)

  • Host the 1st IFGW International Championship in Georgia

  • Develop official IFGW referee handbook and Olympic-style competition rules (without compromising cultural elements)

Year 5 (2029) – Youth & Community Development

  • Launch global youth development program "Wrestling Roots"

  • Offer grants to support youth training centers and rural clubs in Georgia and abroad

  • Develop "Chidaoba in Schools" pilot projects in 3 countries

  • Train next generation of Georgian coaches and international exchange program

  • Organize cultural exchange tours with Georgian diaspora communities

Year 6 (2030) – Olympic Integration & Media Outreach

  • Submit full dossier for Olympic recognition through GAISF or other relevant channels

  • Launch professional media campaign: "Chidaoba for the Olympics"

  • Secure documentary partnerships (e.g., with Netflix, Arte, Georgian Public Broadcaster)

  • Establish global ambassadors network (athletes, artists, cultural figures)

Year 7 (2031) – Global Consolidation & Heritage Promotion

  • Finalize 10-year strategic agreement with UNESCO partner offices

  • Open regional IFGW centers on 4 continents

  • Organize the 2nd IFGW International Championship (outside Georgia)

  • Launch permanent exhibition on Chidaoba at National Museum of Georgia

Year 8 (2032) – Celebration & Recognition

  • Celebrate "International Chidaoba Year" with global programming

  • IFGW-led delegation to IOC session for Olympic review and response

  • Publish "Chidaoba: The Journey" – a comprehensive cultural and athletic chronicle

  • Host Centennial Chidaoba Festival in Tbilisi

  • Review, assess, and renew IFGW strategic roadmap for the next decade
